But still, that's a really funny clip and it reminds everyone not to take themselves too seriously.

There's always a lot of emphasis on the fact that George is doing something different (for CBC that is) and that the show is younger and "hipper" (do people even say that anymore I don't know). What really strikes me though when I watch it is that George is just a damn good interviewer. When you take away all the music, funky set, etc that's what it all comes down too. It's clear that he can do the job and is supported by a good crew.

So wait...let me guess. Magpie isn't terribly fond of our two heroes?

The funny thing is that despite the cute premise of the piece George is honestly one of the smartest guys working to do something different on Mothercorp TV and Jian isn't nearly as irritating as I first tended to think. Q has turned out to be pretty solid and when compared with the atrocity that was 'Freestyle' strides like a titan across the airwaves.

I've heard better interviews on the Strombeshi shows in the last year than pretty much anything coming from *other* networks.

I wonder what would happen in reality if the biggest dickhead on CBC TV and the biggest dickhead on CBC Radio actually shared the same stage. Perhaps that's how black holes are born (what with all that suckage in one room and all).
