It was a pretty good movie altough some scenes just seemed unrealistic. I'd give it a 8/10

Artist Alex Ross once used Gregory Peck in the course of painting the pages of Kingdom Come as a visual model for such an elder Batman. Sadly, he too is unavailable, due to his death in 2003.

David: I'd be interested to know what you make of it...

Mai-ling: I like Bale over Keaton, but I do like Keaton. I don't know who I'd pick as an older Batman. That'd be a tough call. Sean Connery's a little too old now, I think...

i liked it but that's about it.
i am a batman fan, and actually
enjoy the off-beat humour of
the adam west series. Or even
the quirky and probably in my
opinion of course, best batman
yet Michael Keaton. Christian
Bale is good as batman, but I
think if a live action batman
version of batman forever were
to come out, he's be a good
choice to play the old man.

as far as heath ledger's performance.
its good, still can't top jack.
i think jack is more creepier.

Joe - first off, Welcome back!
Glad I didn't delete this bookmark.
Now - as for the Dark Knight - I'm a big fan of the comic books. Mostly Marvel in my collection, but Batman was an exception - especially the Dark Knight Returns limited series that Frank Miller did in 1986. Exceptional version of the comic book.
And I will see this movie and I'm sure enjoy it - but you're so right about the hype. Way over the top. I've decided to wait til it's almost out of steam before going to the theatre. A pal at work saw it close to when it first hit the theatres and he made this statement - "dare I say Ledger's Joker is better than Nicholson's." I had to tell him - look - if he's great, that's a good thing. But why do we have to say it's a topper to Jack? As you say Joe - humour is important and Jack's Joker made me laugh AND made me cringe. So at best, Ledger's version can be great - but different. You can't say it's a topper.
Anyway - great to have you back,
Dave
