It makes you wonder, if you're white and you can't write from the perspectives of other races because that's "cultural appropriation" and you can't write about a white dude interacting with another culture/race, because then you're exhibiting guilt/colonizing then what can you say?

I suppose my main response to the critic in question is 'Meh...get over yourself and your clearly 'superior' morality'.

Amazingly enough I doubt very much that there are many people writhing in teenage-angst/guilt about the lousy way people have (and do) behaves towards one another. The fact that the European/Caucasian dominance of recent politcal and social history is what 'colours' our current world view can only be meaningful if you want an axe to grind. When we reach further back (or go off sideways) there has pretty much always been some group oppressing or beating up on some other group and attaching today's colours to them is short-sighted naiveté (not to mention being all puffed up with college aged indignation).

Only a hopelessly Emo movie viewer watches a film like Avatar and writhes in self loathing about how *we* have done all our fellow humans wrong. Newsflash...anyone with a functioning brain and who has achieved a state near grown-up understands this.
